Baby Blue Baby Blanket Crochet Design

I've been playing with Appalachian Baby Design organic cotton yarn all summer! Such fun! It is so soft and easy to work with. I've discovered that a 4.5mm hook is the best hook for this yarn.

The Baby Blue Baby Blanket is my latest crochet design with this yarn. Like my other baby blanket designs I've created this summer, it has an heirloom look to it - perfect for that precious newborn in your life.

A simple edging really adds to this blanket's design.

The pattern is reversible so there is no right or wrong side to the blanket. I think this is very important in creating a crochet pattern for a baby blanket.

It is beautiful even as a decorative piece in a nursery.

The Baby Blue Baby Blanket is one of my larger crochet baby blanket designs. It is 38" by 42" when completed. The pattern instructs you in increasing or decreasing the size of the finished blanket.

This blanket pattern can be purchased in my Etsy, Craftsy, or Ravelry shops linked at the top of the blog.

Please leave me a comment on your thoughts of the baby blankets I've created this summer. If you've used Appalachian Baby Design yarn, let me know your thoughts on it as well.

Happy crocheting!

Peek a Boo Chevron Crochet Baby Blanket Design

This summer I've been busy writing and testing crochet patterns for baby blankets using organic cotton yarn from Appalachian Baby Design. I especially like to create heirloom or vintage design baby blankets.

The Peek a Boo Chevron baby blanket is my latest crochet design. It is an open chevron pattern, perfect for a lightweight summertime baby blanket.

I chose to use two colors in my design - pink and natural. I really like the results - it looks like strawberries and cream!

The design isn't hard to crochet - perfect for those who've been crocheting a little while and are comfortable with counting stitches. It works up pretty quickly. With a repeating pattern, it's a great design to crochet while chatting/watching a movie/riding in the car.

Feel free to change out the colors or even make a solid color blanket. My pattern instructs you on how to increase or decrease the size of the finished blanket as well.
