Lacy Scallops Shawl or Cowl Crochet Pattern

My friend who raises alpacas on their small hobby farm gave me some yarn spun from her alpaca fiber. It is wonderful! Some of the softest yarn I've worked with ever!

Alpaca fiber is known to be some of the warmest, yet lightest yarn you can create. I decided to crochet a capelet or short shawl, that could also be worn as a cowl or infinity scarf with my alpaca yarn.

I was pleased with the results! The pattern I created can be found on my Etsy, Craftsy, and Ravlery shops.

Easy Rainbow Poncho for Girls in 7 different colors

I'm hooked (no pun intended!) on ponchos this spring! They are so versatile with the cool mornings,  warm afternoons, and brisk evenings. I'm working on an adult poncho with a cowl crocheted with super soft alpaca yarn! Keep an eye out for it.

This poncho is crocheted using 7 different colors of yarn. Pick any colors you want. These mix of colors make me smile!

The rainbow poncho is beautiful without any additions. It's all about COLOR!

But, a popcorn flower really adds some PIZAZZ!

Find the pattern for the Rainbow Poncho with a Flower on my Etsy, Craftsy or Ravelry Shops.

A few ready made ponchos are available on my Etsy shop. Send me a comment or email if you don't see what you'd like in color, size or style, and I'll make a custom poncho for you.

How to add Interchangeable Flowers to a Hat

To make one hat match several different outfits, all you need to do is to be able to change out your different color flowers.

First you need to crochet a simple hat. The pattern for the pictured hat can be found here.

Next, crochet your flower, heart or other embellishment.

Then use a yarn needle and some thread or yarn and sew on to your hat  a button or two where you would like your flower or other embellishment to be.

Gently slip your flower(s) over your buttons on your hat. Change out flowers to match the outfit.

The Basic Beanie Hat for Everyone

This week I created a basic beanie crochet hat pattern in 9 sizes, preemie through men, for a crochet class I'm teaching to some friends next week.

I had to crochet one of each age category in order to make sure I had the sizing correct.

After much coaxing, Cade was finally willing to model his new hat. He even took directions as I asked him to turn around. Not too bad for a 2 year old!

I like this combination of colors! Just look thru your yarn stash and see how the colors look together.

When you add a soccer ball to the scene the attention span increases! Amazing!

I HAD to make a girl version and older child size as well. You can add to these hats to make them unique. A big red heart on the side would look cute!

Bella looks good in these colors!

One of my favorite Spring color combos. I think a few colorful buttons would really make this hat stand out!

Excited to make one for yourself or for someone special? Pattern can be found on my Etsy, Craftsy and Ravelry shops.

Finished hats are available on my Etsy shop as well.
