No Easter Sunday outfit for a little boy is complete without a bow tie.

Girls Spring Easter Shawl

I had a Spring Easter shawl when I was a little girl to wear over my Sunday dress in the early spring when it was still cool. I couldn't find just what I was remembering, so I created this shawl myself and am sharing the pattern with you! Mine was always white, but make any color(s) you desire!

This spring shawl has a beautiful yoke consisting of a popcorn and v-stitch pattern.

The shawl pattern is written for sizes 2/3, 4/6, and 8/10 with directions on how to adjust sizing as needed.
I think this picture from the back shows off the shawl best!
It would make a beautiful addition to a flower girl dress as well.
Why not download the pattern from my Etsy, Craftsy, Ravelry or Crochetville shops today and get started! Easter is just around the corner.

Free Pattern Friday - A Sweet Flower

This is the easiest and sweetest crochet flower yet! It takes 2 minutes tops to make one.
You can use any size of crochet. Change hook sizes to get the desired size of flower. Start with an H hook for an average flower size and use larger or smaller crochet hooks to get the size you want.

In the picture above Flower #1 = G Hook
Flower #2 = H Hook
Flower #3 = J Hook
Flower #4 = N Hook
You can make 2 different sizes and stack them.
Magic Ring, (ch2, 2 dc, ch 2, sc) in Ring 5 times. Join in 1st ch of 1st ch2. Pull ring tight. Fasten off, leaving a long tail to tie on to your project.
These flowers are simple flowers that add that "little something" to many different types of  projects:
add to hats, headbands, hair clips, scarves, and more.

Adorable Crocheted Hats for the Spring

Spring is just around the corner and every little girl needs a perfect spring hat to go with her spring dresses. This one fits that requirement.

The Aleah Hat works up quickly and the pattern is available in 8 sizes - Preemie thru Womens. Pattern includes flower crochet pattern as well.

Some finished hats are available on my Etsy shop as well.

Off the Hook Monday - Steak Marinade

Image courtesy of Vichaya Kiatying-Angsulee at
We just bought half of a cow for the freezer, so I am having to create a lot of new beef recipes to keep dinner interesting.
This is my favorite marinade for all cuts of beef, venison, and other dark meats.

1/3 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1/3 cup Soy Sauce
1/3 cup Worcestershire Sauce
2 tsp Garlic
1 TBL Molasses
Mix together with a whisk in the bottom of the pan you plan to marinade your meat in so you don't have any extra bowls to wash.
Place your meat in the marinade and let it rest for 30 minutes - over night.
Cook meat on the grill, in a skillet on the stove top, or put the pan with meat and marinade in the oven.
